About FindAnLMS and Craig Weiss

Craig Weiss is the CEO and lead analyst of The Craig Weiss Group, and the person behind FindAnLMS. For more than two decades he has done one thing consistently: evaluate learning systems at scale and tell people which ones are worth their money.

Before he was an analyst, Craig was a corporate training director, building and deploying e-learning programs and sitting on the buying side of LMS selection himself. He has written the RFP. He has sat through the demo where the feature that mattered most turned out to be on next year’s roadmap. That operator background separates an analyst who reads spec sheets from one who knows which specs matter in month eighteen.

In 2009 he launched what became one of the most widely read blogs in corporate learning technology, now read in more than 170 countries. He founded The Craig Weiss Group and began publishing the annual Top 50 Learning Systems rankings, personally evaluating a global field that in some years exceeded a thousand vendors. The methodology is weighted, not impressionistic: systems are scored on features, support, training, and technical capability, with support weighted highest, and vendors segmented by vertical, audience size, and platform type. Vendors publish press releases when they place. Buyers use the list as a shortlist before contacting a single sales team.

Craig has been named in independently produced industry rankings as the most influential person in the world for learning systems, across multiple years.

Why Craig's recommendations carry weight

He evaluates the entire market, not a curated slice. Most LMS advice comes from directories that rank whoever pays for placement, or from consultants whose experience spans the eight platforms they happen to have implemented. Craig assesses the global field annually. He can tell you a system is the fourth-best option in your segment, and why the top three do not fit your use case.

He is specific about fit, not quality. His recommendations do not say “best LMS.” They say this platform is right for customer education, this one for large enterprise L&D, this one for associations. The wrong-fit good product is a more common failure than the bad product.

He serves both sides of the market and says so. Craig advises buyers and vendors, and treats that openly as the source of his access. Knowing what vendors are building, where roadmaps actually point, and which support organizations are strained tells you things no feature comparison will.

FindAnLMS is the practical expression of all of it. Selecting a learning system typically consumes sixty hours and ends in a compromise. FindAnLMS compresses that into fifteen minutes of structured vetting, built on the framework Craig has refined across fifteen years of rankings.
